Events and Catering Manager - Full Time

People’s Food Co-op is currently seeking a full-time Events and Catering Manager to support the mission of the Co-op through coordinating events and catering for the La Crosse store, meeting high standards of service and quality. Reporting to the Food Service Director, this individual will work cooperatively with other food service departments to meet customers’ needs for in-house and off-site events and develop and plan special projects for expansion of PFC food service options.

Wellness Clerk - Temporary

Our wellness clerks treat the excellency of customer service as their primary focus and will do this through various production assignments, careful inventory control, and accurate record keeping.  Wellness clerks will need to communicate effectively, assist department managers in organizational duties, understand, adhere to, and demonstrate correct company policy and procedure, among the other duties required by a clerk.  Minimum physical requirements include the ability to 50 lbs., standing during work hours, being able to use a knife or box cutter, and being able to operate a baler.

Front End Cashier - Part Time

PFC Cashiers play a critical role in ensuring our shoppers leave the store with an awesome check-out experience.  They efficiently and accurately perform all cash register functions, assist with bagging groceries, and ensure that each and every customer feels engaged and delighted.  Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation, including the ability to safely lift 15 to 25 lbs., stand/walk 6-8 hours per day, engage in the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching, and work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Deli Counter Manager - Full Time

People’s Food Co-op, mission-driven to be the best fresh foods market in the country, is currently seeking a Deli Counter Manager.  The ideal candidate will lead a department providing customers with high quality, delicious, and nutritious food. They will establish pricing to achieve margin goals, evaluate food service suppliers, oversee the receipt of orders, and process invoices for the accounting department. The department and staff will maintain consistently high functionality through organized performance standards, safety and cleanliness standards, and compliance with all health code regulations. The Deli Counter Manager will also schedule, hire and develop qualified staff, and work with other business partners to implement departmental training materials and systems.

Cheese Lead Clerk - Full Time

As a Cheese Lead Clerk, you will provide prompt, friendly, courteous service to include offering samples, answering questions, and making suggestions as needed. Order and stock product to refill shelves and choose new product with manager input. Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to handle multiple demands.  Previous leadership and cheese experience preferred.

Produce Clerk - Part Time

People’s Food Co-op is currently seeking a Full-Time Produce Clerk for variable days and hours.  Our Produce Clerks live and breathe awesome service and provide overall department support to include maintaining the quality and presentation of product on the floor and on display, stocking shelves, and ensuring compliance with sanitary and safety standards and procedures.  Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation, including the ability to safely lift 40 lbs., to handle knives and other cutting equipment, work in a wet and cold environment, stand/walk 6-8 hours per day, engage in the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching, and work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Meat Clerk - Full Time

Our Meat Clerks live and breathe awesome service and provide overall department support to include counter service, stocking and sanitation.  Carnivorous enthusiasm and nimble knife skills a plus.  Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation, including the ability to safely lift 45 lbs., to handle knives and other cutting equipment, work in a wet and cold environment, stand/walk 6-8 hours per day, engage in the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching, and work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
