La Crosse Remodel Update #12

Week five of construction is almost complete!

With more cooperative weather this week we’ve been able to keep our construction schedule, and cross some important mile markers:

Finished mechanicals (like electrical and refrigeration) for all the salad, meat, seafood and pastry cases
Built walls for new deli seating and coffee service area
Prepped for the dumbwaiter and additional walk-in cooler
Received the brand new beer cooler (See picture below. Facilities Manager Mark Wall gives the beer cooler a thumbs up!)
Next week the display cases will be delivered and installed, and then it is the finishing touches after that.

In just three short weeks we’ll re-open the deli area for service – ready for you with new menu options like protein bowls and grilled bratwurst, and housemade foods on the hot bar.

We’ve been working to keep the store free of dust and keep the noise to a minimum, but there are definitely days that are louder and dustier than normal. If you can schedule your big shopping trips for after 2:30, the construction is wrapped up by that time. Thank you to everyone who’s been shopping throughout the week – we KNOW this food is worth it!

We are hosting in the community room and at Hackberry’s during construction. Daily, use the 2nd floor community room to eat by yourself or with friends. Hackberry’s is a great place to go for hot sandwich and salad, and on Wednesday nights we’re staying open for the Community Meal. Our Beer and Wine Buyer, Patrick, will be the bartender – bring your Meal upstairs - there is lots of room for kiddos and family gatherings!

Put April 4-7 on your calendar – we’re going to celebrate the results of all this work with a Grand Reopening Party! We are looking forward to dancing, farmer demo’s, delicious food and celebrating with our friends and neighbors.

See you in the store -
