Old World wines in the New World—Rochester
From: May 22, 2019 at 6:00pm to: 8:00pm
With: Mark Weimer
Join Mark Weimer of the Wine Merchants and explore the differences between European and New World wines at Cambria in Rochester, located at 400 South Broadway. Old World refers to Europe, whereas New World refers to any part of the world that was at one point under colonial rule, such as North and South America, South Africa, and Australia, among others. It’s subjective to argue that one style is better than the other, but everyone agrees that they’re different. In this tasting, we will cover the subtle and not-so-subtle differences between the Old and New World wine philosophies and taste profiles. Yes, you will be drinking wine during the class. Participants must be 21 or older.
