A Taste of African Heritage

A six week course meeting Sundays beginning September 14 • 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Dates for the class are: 9/14, 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9 and 11/23.


People’s Food Co-op is pleased to announce its collaboration with an exciting program coming to Rochester this month called A Taste of African Heritage (ATOAH). This is a six-week cooking class series that teaches participants how to prepare delicious, affordable, plant-based, whole food meals through the lenses of African descendant history and cultural heritage. The program shines a light on the healthy “old ways” of African American ancestors (from Africa to Haiti to South Carolina), celebrating and reviving this sustainable, nutritious culinary legacy that has the power to simplify and culturally connect nutrition—bringing it to life—and improve health today. Registered Dietitian Lindsay Andrews will be the instructor. The two-hour classes will be Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in the community room.
